Located in Bel Air, Maryland, Caring Connection, Inc. provides elder care management and in home senior care in the form of companion care, personal care, and respite services for seniors in Harford, Cecil and Baltimore Counties.
Privately owned by a registered nurse, we offer several levels of in home senior care, with customized care plans and schedules. We strive to take the worry out of the aging process by being available and on-call 24/7 for your needs.

Joyce Apperson, RN, GCM
Joyce is a Registered Nurse and Geriatric Care Manager with 15 plus years of experience working with and advocating for seniors. As a geriatric care manager, she is qualified to assess client needs, and as a registered nurse, she will make medical recommendations and manage client care. She is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of seniors in the community, and will ensure the best quality of care is given to every client. Joyce has extensive knowledge and experience with the aging population, Alzheimer’s and dementia care, and works with families to create the best possible plan of care to meet all goals.
For many years, Michele Hauer has been advocating for seniors in our Community in both the nonprofit and private sector. She brings to Caring Connection, Inc. a strong background in Case Management and Operations. Michele obtained her BS degree in Psychology concentrating in the field of aging from Towson State University. She continued her education completing both her MS and Ph.D. in Natural Health, Certificate in Gerontology, Assisted Living Manager Certification, and EssentiALZ Basic and Advanced Dementia Care Certification. Beyond her education, is a core respect and compassion for helping seniors in their quest to age with dignity. This is evident in the way she approaches her work and relates to our clients every day.
Lauren Bucklew, RN
Director of Nursing
Lauren is a Registered Nurse with an extensive clinical background. She attended the Von Lee International School of Aesthetics and earned her Esthetician License. After perusing this certification, she attended Harford Community College. During her studies she received High Honors with diverse clinical experience. Lauren became certified in ACLS, PALS, NRP, and IV therapy. After gaining valuable hospital experience she pursued her delegating and case manager certification. This prompted her to become apart of the family business. As the daughter, of Joyce Apperson she shares the same values and vision for the Caring Connection, Inc. She is a driven, dedicated individual with great compassion. Lauren believes in providing personalized care with every client interaction.
Client Services Director
Victoria Green has been a Certified Nursing Assistant for 16 years. Working with the elderly and the care of people are her passions in the career she enjoys now. She has a strong background of 14 years in the Information Technology and benefits from combining both her nursing and IT skills in the workforce. She attended Dundalk Community College for Computer Information Systems and has received her Certified Nursing Assistant through Maryland Board of Nursing. Victoria is driven an energetic individual who is confident and can be a valuable team member to any group or company. Victoria enjoys working with others and gaining valuable experience through work and social interaction.
Community Relations Director
Debbie Pons has over 25 years of direct sales experience in Harford County. Debbie has worked as a caregiver and has devoted herself to the care of people living with Alzheimer’s. As a sales representative, Debbie has sold new homes with one of the largest builders in Harford County and have successfully placed numerous job seekers for one of the largest temporary agency services in Harford County. Debbie has thoroughly enjoyed her experience as a caregiver and has gained extensive knowledge being in the field. Debbie has an outgoing personality and is very social, loves meeting people and is always ready for new challenges.
